Week 6 Post

During this week I have learned and relearned a few concepts. Some of the main points that and messages that stood out for me were -

1) The need to keep God and Family as priorities in spite of challenges from business endeavors or business goals. You will be blessed by putting those things first in your life.
2) Depending on your goals. Big goals may require large investments of time and money. Choose a well thought out direction and stick with it, making adjustments when necessary in the future.
3) A smaller venture can have advantages over larger ones which include - Less monetary risk and more flexibility of business. Many times it pays just to make judgments and decisions without computing every detail in order to adjust to the changing demands of business.
4) We get more value out of seeing something grow over time and being dedicated to it, rather than starting something and letting it go. In turn also, we become better and more efficient at something as we put the time and effort into improving.
5) Be proactive in whatever you are engaged in, work, school, etc. If you're going to put effort into something, then do your best. Don't let other people's actions or thinking prevent you from being as successful as you can be.

Week 5 - Post

This week I've learned a lot from the videos and reading that has been covered. I especially enjoyed the message given in the Hero's journey and how he shared about the different people, of varying ages, that he spoke to at one point. The older group shared that what they most reflected on at that time in their lives and it was if they had they made a difference in the end. The extra things of notoriety and fame were not even in their thoughts, but the effect they had had on others.

The study we reviewed this week, Warm Fuzzy cards, also stood out to me, in the way that the woman persisted in her start up and the way she got her business to have success. Her business didn't get to where it was without incremental effort and little goals by little. I think that is the way that most successful and long lasting businesses begin. By one piece at a time of increase.

I think the most frequent message I got from this week, to be successful, is to be persistent and to not give up. The most successful companies when they are discouraged, keep working through the issues and keep going.
